Ray Kelly's Roping Dummy, a relational aesthetics and interactive installation.
It displayed a ready made steel bullhead used in the training of Lassoing.
Viewers were offered the chance to participate in lassoing the bull head.
Roping Dummy, 2012, forged steel, 23 x 40 x 14 inches.
Ray Kelly was born in Texas in 1945, he studied at the Arts Student League.
He has lectured at Skowhegan and founded the Rivington School in 1984.
Kelly has exhibited internationally and locally at the Cooper Hewitt Museum,
New York; PS1, Socrates Sculpture Park, Long Island City and White Box.
