Bob Dylan continued his tour, “Rough and Rowdy Ways” at a Sold Out Kings Theater, Brooklyn, NY. November 14 - 15 2023
The Master wordsmith did not disappoint as he playfully, rapped lyrics around familiar chord structures, like “I’ll Be Your Baby Tonight” and “When I Paint My Masterpiece.” Instead of a ‘wand’ Dylan conducts the band with inflection of his lyrics with staccato and prolongation of his vocal notes.
I ran into Tony Garnier who was stretching his legs in the Lobby of the Theater. Bassist extraordinaire he’s been playing with Bob Dylan since 1989. He was kind enough to snap this “selfie” for me. I’ve known him from the East Village neighbor for years.
Bob Dylan was on point and in the epitome of vocal clarity. The band pulsed flawlessly as an extension of where Dylan was taking the songs that evening.
