Google for Media NYC Summit 2014


The Society for Professional Journalists, the Online News Association,
the National Association of Hispanic Journalists, the National Association of Black Journalists, the Asian American Journalist Association, 
the International Center for Journalists and Google presented
a two day-long summit featuring talks by industry leaders, demos
and hands-on workshops with Google product experts.


Day 1 Agenda
Included a Keynote by James Robinson of the New York Times,
panels, workshops on Mobile Journalism, advanced Google Earth
Tours for TV and Video, Security issues from phishing to firewalls.


Journalists, Miyuki Inoue, Ashai Shimbun  
and Rhonda Shearer, iMediaEthics were among the attendees.

BIG APPS NYC 2014


BIG APPS NYC 2014 held it's annual competition 
that empowers the sharpest minds to solve NYC's toughest 
challenges through technology, data and collaboration.

Their mission is to keep the heat on for New York City
residents during the coldest months of the year.

Using this data, they can automatically detect heating code 
violations in real time.



Heat Seek NYC empowers tenants and their advocates

across NYC, they aim to deter heating code violations altogether.
