The Avant Garde Diaries Launch Party


The Avant Garde Diaries debuted their new, New York Offices, June 19, 2012.
The Launch took place on the corner of 372 Broome and Mott streets, NYC.




Security Ladies did their job, extremely well.




Tacos, with choice, of Beef, Chicken or vegetarian were on hand,
and they were good!



Oh no, you dropped your Taco!





They offered an Open Bar, with top shelf, well drinks,
Grey Goose, Jameson Irish Whiskey, Bombay Gin, Brooklyn Larger,
Stella Artois and Blue Moon Beer.



Music was provided by DJ's Pete Rock and Kim Sweeney,
and a Live performance by Janka Nabay and The Bubu Gang!

 

 
 
Home-made giant potato chips were served on hooks,
hung on a pole carried by two waiters.
 
 
Bobbi Citron and friends were in attendance.
 
 
Fried Cheese Balls, anyone?
 
 
Real Estate Investor, Jan Joroff and yours truly.
 
 
 
 
 
As the Sun set on the Westside, we bid a fond farewell.

Orchard Windows Presents Michael Mars

Dino Eli presents painting's of Michael Mars, at Orchard Windows.
"Rotational" is the title of exhibition, June 15th - 21st.


Orchard Windows is a cozy little art space on the Lower East Side.
The brain child of Dino Eli, owner, curator and impresario.
Eli brings a cross section of contemporary art for all taste's and budgets.

Abel Cine Demonstrates the Phantom Miro


An Exploration of the Phantom Miro

 Yesterday, June 14, 2012, Moe Shore, Phantom Product Manager at Abel Cine
introduced the Phantom Miro M320S and the opportunities it opens up to image-makers.


Jesse Rosen, Director of Technical Development for Abel Cine,
discussed how Miro M320S, fits into the Phantom camera line, including how
Vision Research was able to create a compact, full featured high-speed camera.

Jim Gedulddick and Steve Romano recorded a live performance
by "object manipulator" Michael Karas and discussed the process while shooting.
There was time for Q&A and hands on with the camera.







The Miro is able to slow down the subject in the monitor while it's recording.

Amani Olu (b. 1980) is an independent curator,
 writer, essayist and co-founder and executive director of Humble Arts Foundation,
a New York based 501c3 committed to supporting and promoting new art photography.
In addition to his work as a non-profit arts director, he also organizes the annual Young Curators,
New Ideas exhibition. He lives and works in New York and is a proud member
of New Art Dealers Alliance (NADA).
