FRIEDMAN BENDA'S CLUB CULTURE as ART

A recent exhibition at Friedman Benda's presented Club Culture as Art.
The exhibition by Thorsten Albertz, explores artifacts of "the party animals"
and their euphoric, drug-induced, bacchanalian night-life.

The show takes it's title from Fredrich Nietzsche...

The collection spans the 1970's to the present day and brings together
a sweeping group of artists from New York City to Berlin, with one common interest, nightlife. It features photographs, painting, sculpture and
artifacts.

Albertz, promulgates how nightlife has influenced contemporary art.

The Avant/Garde Diarie's, a digital interview magazine initiated by
Mercedes-Benz, just released a new video featuring artists, Bill Beckley
and Agatha Snow talking about their exhibition at Friedman Benda.
